App Terms of Use

These are the terms for using the CoDriver app. How we handle your information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, registering for, or using DriveSense CoDriver ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the App. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and DriveSense Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06519336), registered office Lee Barns, Lee Lane, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 6PE.

2. Eligibility

CoDriver may be used by people under 18. We apply the same protections to every user, whatever their age. If you are under 18, we recommend talking to a parent or guardian before linking your account to anyone.

• You should hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence, or be learning to drive with a qualified instructor. We do not verify this.

• Instructor accounts are for people holding a current DVSA ADI registration. We check badge details before verifying an instructor account.

• You must give accurate information when you register.

• One account per person — do not share your login.

3. The service

CoDriver provides real-time driving feedback, GPS trip recording, driving scores, progress tracking, competency self-assessment tools, confidence and mood check-ins, and educational content. It is a supplementary training tool for learner and novice drivers and their instructors.

CoDriver does not replace professional driver training, instruction from an ADI, or any statutory assessment. Scores and competency ratings in the App are self-assessment tools only and carry no legal standing.

4. Your responsibilities

• Never interact with the App in a way that distracts you from driving safely.

• Comply with all applicable UK road traffic legislation at all times.

• Do not use the App as a primary navigation device.

• Do not share your login with anyone.

• Do not attempt to manipulate, falsify or inflate your driving scores or competency assessments.

• Do not link your account to someone else's without their knowledge and consent.

• Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape or copy any part of the App.

• Give truthful information, including accurate ADI badge details if applicable.

5. Safety disclaimer

Important. CoDriver is a driving aid and training support tool. It does not replace your personal legal responsibility to drive safely and with due care and attention at all times. DriveSense Limited accepts no liability for any road traffic incident, accident, fine or legal action arising from or during your use of the App.

6. Instructor and parent accounts

If you are an instructor linked to a learner's account, you may view that learner's trip data, routes, scores, competency assessments, risk assessment answers and check-ins, solely to support their driver training. You must not share this data with anyone else or use it commercially without the learner's explicit consent.

If you are a parent or guardian linked to a learner's account, you may view the same information, for the purpose of supporting their training only.

Before linking, the App shows the learner exactly what the link will share. Learners can disconnect any linked instructor or parent at any time in Profile & Settings, and access ends straight away.

7. Intellectual property

All content, software, branding, algorithms and scoring systems within CoDriver are the intellectual property of DriveSense Limited or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal driver training only. You may not copy, redistribute or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

8. Your content

By using the App, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use anonymised and aggregated versions of your trip data, scores and assessments for service improvement and research.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you breach these Terms, provide false information, use the App in a way that endangers others, or behave fraudulently or unlawfully. You can delete your account at any time in Profile & Settings. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

10. Vehicle registration and DVLA lookup

If you use the optional vehicle lookup, your registration number is sent to the DVLA to retrieve vehicle information. Your registration number is stored in your profile and can be removed at any time.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DriveSense Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability to you will not exceed the greater of £100 or the total amount paid to us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to these terms

We'll tell you in the App about important changes, and update the version and date at the top. Continuing to use the App after that means you accept the revised Terms.
